Did you know? Of the 6.6 million tonnes of food the UK throws away, 70% of the food could have actually been eaten. This equates to 4.5 million tonnes of edible food thrown away each year!
At The Chakra Lounge, we find this unacceptable! As our first initiative to actively participate in reducing food waste in the UK, we have joined hands with @toogoodtogo.uk – the #1 Anti-Food Waste App.
Too Good To Go fights food waste primarily through their free app, which connects users with stores and restaurants that have unsold surplus food at the end of the day.
Like TooGoodToGo, we dream of a planet with no food waste! With these folks, we ensure that the excess food ends up on the plate and not in the bin!
You can find us on the #TooGoodToGo app, order a “magic bag” of surplus food at a reduced price, and then simply collect it from the store during a pre-set collection window!
Now, why haven’t we been taught that fighting food waste was this easy?!

Established as the first-ever lounge cafe in the heart of spa town, Buxton, Derbyshire, we believe that food is, by all means, a conversation of life.
We continuously strive to recreate that dialogue through our flavour-packed, ingredient-focused menu with alluring Indian dishes.

With hopes to evoke a beautiful memory to reminiscent and 40 years of collective experience of a team,we have created Indian traditional food with a fresh western twist and a variety of herbs and spices that don’t often bless menus.

My favourite eatery in Buxton. Tasty well cooked food, so different from the blah de blah! The restaurant is so ambient, relaxing and friendly l could stay there all day. Lovely welcoming staff and very friendly as befits the ethos.

This is a great little cafe/restaurant a couple of minutes from the central area of Bakewell. The food was very tasty and staff friendly.
Absolutely lovely good, it really wowed my taste buds. Definitely worth stopping and grabbing lunch here. I had the samosa chaat from the small plate menu; it was divine. Lovely staff and quick service.
